Dr.Fernando Urrutia began medical training
in his native Mexico before continuing graduate studies at
the University of Toronto in Canada. Following his accomplishments
both north and south of the border, he was offered a position
as the director of endoscopy at University of Texas-Galveston.
Dr. Urrutia's tri-country journey through the
medical ranks isn't even the most unique aspect of his
practice. Several years into his service at
UT-Galveston, he left to form a private practice in the Houston
area. His emphasis, therapeutic endoscopy is a highly unique
subdivision of gastroenterology.
Dr. Urrutia stressed was drawn to gastroenterological
endoscopy because of its capacity for early detection of malignant
tumors. To advance his knowledge of the emergent field, he
holds membership in both the American College of Physicians
and the American College of Gastroenterologists, as well as
beigh board certified in both gastroenterology and internal
medicine.
